Class Mission Statement

Every day, English opens a new chapter. I will pick up my books and pens and take down the monster that is known as doubt.  In English there is no limit to what you can write or what you can read. I will explore new ideas in my daily writing with creativity. I will listen and be involved for the better of the class.

This room is where we are on the same team, so we will forgive and understand because everyone has a story. We express ourselves with confidence. Staying focused and showing kindness to others will be the key to success for this year. This is the room where you can be yourself.

Be kind to everyone, everywhere, everyday.

We’re savage–no one can change that. In the end there is one thing you need to take away from this class, and that is…… YOU CAN DO IT!

So that’s my English class’s mission statement. A mission statement is a statement where you state your mission. The process of making that was really hard, and at times really boring. But it was all worth it, because the final result is amazing. We listened to other mission statements. Those mission statements generated ideas. We wrote those ideas down in our notebooks. Then, we put those ideas into a first rough draft. That rough draft was later put onto a poster. That poster was read aloud to the class. The class shared phrases they liked. Those phrases were written down into Miss. Haseltine’s notebook. We took all of the phrases and individually wrote our last rough draft. Miss. Haseltine took those final rough drafts. And make an amazing final copy.

The hardest and worst part of the process was probably the beginning. It was kind of slow, but very progressive. The easiest part was working with my partner. I work well with others. The most bestest part of the whole process was sharing my mission statement with the class. I love presenting, no matter what it is.

My English class desperately needs a mission statement. Some of the things in our mission statement aren’t how we act, but goals of how we should act. I think that if we say this daily (which we do) the ideas expressed in this statement will slowly improve the behavior of our class.
